Payment: 6 week block (ongoing courses), between £45 – £55 (according to what feels reasonable for you to pay at the time)

Must book in advance with Martina.

There are no classes on Bank Holidays.

We use a chair instead of having to get up and down off a mat on the floor so this class is suitable for people who may find this difficult for any reason or those who simply want to practice a gentler form of yoga. There is some standing and modifications will be offered for anything that is not suitable.

We will practice a wide variety of exercises to access and move all the joints in the body. You will learn a variety of movements, poses, breathing and relaxation techniques and meditation that you can add to your tool box to take away with you in everyday life. Feel calm, more at ease and help relieve general aches and pains in the body to maintain good health.

Yoga promotes well being on all levels, mental, physical and emotional.

Regular clients have given positive feedback and find that by the end of the class they feel relaxed and calm.

These classes are a great way to do something positive for yourself and to meet new people. You may wish to visit the cafe for a drink before or after.

Martina has been teaching Yoga since 2007 in London and in Worthing since she moved back in 2016. She is professional, with experience of working with a wide range of clients and levels of experience.

Please wear loose comfortable clothing. Preferably barefoot / or socks if possible.

Recommended not eating 1 hour before class (or light snack only).

Please turn phone onto silent and it is preferable that you do not arrive late as it disrupts the class.

Martina’s Bio

Martina’s own journey with yoga started while studying Fine Art at University where she became intrigued by the state of mental attention she reached when highly focused on an activity such as painting or performance art. This led her to to attend a weekly Buddhist meditation group and not long after she was introduced to asana (postures) when attending a retreat at Anam Cara in the Highlands of Scotland. Martina went on to train as a Yoga teacher qualifying in 2009, teaching since 2007, gaining a BWY Foundation and Teachers Diploma training in the Vini Yoga tradition studying for 4.5 years.

Martina went onto train with Norman Blair’s, working as his assistant (one of the UK’s leading Yin Yoga teachers) and completed his advanced training intensive courses. During this time she covered his classes and took some of them on. She worked as a Receptionist for 6 years at The Life Centre where she attended hundreds of classes and workshops, covered classes, while both training herself and advising clients.

She gained a lot of valuable experience teaching a variety of client groups in all different environments, teaching in London for 10 years where she continued her professional development. Teachers who are inspiring mentors include Angelika Grohmann and Dr Lisa Kayley-Isley. Martina has also trained in Yoga for depression, anxiety and is trauma informed through training with Lisa and on courses at the Minded Institute.

Martina moved back to her hometown Worthing in 2016 when she started sharing yoga at the community centre and other venues locally.

She continues to deepen her own practice through personal solo retreats each year and further training.

She is also an Artist and runs local art classes and finds her yoga and artistic practice compliment and inform each other.

Martina is available for one to one sessions, if you would like to create a tailor made personal practice plan, just ask her about this if interested.

She loves the communal aspect of classes and finds that coming together with kind intention to connect peacefully with others is rather powerful.

Martina loves sharing the tools of yoga to empower people to be guided from within and become more sensitive to their innate wisdom. She teaches supportive classes that encourage kindness and compassion to ourselves and others.

Since the pandemic Martina has felt even more conviction of the power of community and how beneficial a weekly yoga class (or more!) can enhance our well being on all levels. The community has gone from strength to strength and has been a joy to witness it blossoming!
