Dance 4 Parkinson’s

Monday 11:30am – 12:30pm

Shakespeare Hall

This is a dance class specifically for people that have Parkinson’s disease and for their carers or family.

The class focuses on balance, strength and mobility using a combination of Ballet, Tap, Modern and social dancing.  It is suitable for varying mobility as all dances and exercises can be performed sitting or standing.  No dance experience necessary.

Research has shown that dance and music, has an effect on cognition and activates part of the brain that influence motor control.  Along with the socialisation, support and group dynamics it has a positive impact on psychological factors; whilst the dance training improves balance and walking stability.

You need to be a member of Parkinson’s UK to attend.
