Meet Joanna and her team
Being the Centre Manager since 2014. I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the Centre, with a small team of two admin assistants and two caretakers. I am the competent Health & Safety person, the competent Fire Safety person and the competent person in First Aid, with a Level 3 Award in First Aid At Work.
I have the passion and drive to organise events every year and the last event, being the Jubilee Summer Fayre, was a huge success! One of my proudest moments was when the The Heene received the prestige accolade of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services in 2019. It is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. The Vice-Chair of the Trustees and I enjoyed a glorious day out at a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in May 2019 with the Queen and Prince Harry in attendance.
I would not be able to hold these events without all the wonderful volunteers who help out on the fayre days. I have begun organising the next event, which will be the Christmas Fayre on Saturday 3rd December. There will be festive entertainment, the popular Santa’s Grotto, Grand Raffle and lots of festive stalls and more, with something for everyone!
