Vacancy – Caretaker / Handyperson

Willing to be flexible to work evenings and weekends, to cover sickness and holidays

Part-time Caretaker/Handyperson required at Heene Community Centre 

Variable hours with a minimum of 12 hours per week

 

Duties to include:-

  • Maintaining building security
  • Being responsible for the building
  • General cleaning
  • Setting up/taking down rooms with tables and chairs
  • General maintenance and decorating jobs 
  • Maintaining the garden area
  • Assisting members of the public within the Centre

 

As a committed hard worker, you will be able to use your own initiative and manage your time well to do the vital jobs to the highest standards, ensuring that The Heene is always in tiptop shape and meeting with Health & Safety regulations. You will be able to prioritise your work, knowing which rooms/areas that will need cleaning or checking first to make easy changeovers between hirers. 

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role with good hands-on practical skills.  You will be thorough and pay attention to detail, as well as reliable, responsible, have effective communication skills and be able to demonstrate a positive presence within the building.   

The successful applicant will be required to undertake various background checks, including a DBS check.

£9.50 per hour.  References required.
